President
Derrick Holmes is a life-long Clermont County resident and graduated from Milford High School. He currently works in the IT industry as a Business Development Manager. He and his beautiful wife, Jessica, have been married for more than 25 years. They have lived in Goshen over 15 years and raised two sons, Randy (25) and Connor (24). Both are graduates of Goshen High School.Derrick has been an active member of the Goshen community even before he officially moved into town by coaching the “Goshen Yodas” youth baseball team for several years. Derrick also coached youth football and served on the Goshen Youth Football Board and represented Goshen with the Clermont County Youth Football League. He has also been an active member of the Goshen community for many years outside of sports by serving on the Goshen Bicentennial Committee, and serving on the Goshen Board of Zoning Appeals for many years.
Over the past couple of years it has become increasingly evident to Derrick that there are more people than we know silently fighting a battle. A battle that eventually consumes them into feeling there is only one way to end the battle. He hopes by bringing awareness to the issue, those that are struggling realize they are not alone, and more folks will learn to start conversations that begin to normalize the idea that it is ok to discuss feelings.

Treasurer
My name is Bob Haas. I have been married to my rockstar, kindergarten teacher of a wife for 29 years. We have 2 beautiful children together, Jake who would be 22 and Sarah who is 20! I was born in Virginia and moved several times before we finally settled down in West Chester, OH.I met Kim while working at Kings Island. She was my only contact to the community of Goshen. We lived in a couple areas before settling down in Goshen. At the time, I had no desire whatsoever to live in a small town. However, it only took a couple of 'events' for me to realize this town was special. We finished raising our children here. Both graduates of Goshen Local Schools. This is now my hometown. I couldn't imagine living anywhere else. I am proud of my Township. The amount of outpouring whenever a tragedy occurs is unmatched (in my opinion) anywhere else.
My son Jake, whom the SnacPac4L Foundation was started in honor of, was always a source of pride for me. He was fun and goofy, always wanted to please people, had a very kind heart and handled adversity well. He was a great student, an athlete, had many, many friends that he would do anything for. He had decided that he wanted to go into Law Enforcement. We were excited for him. He was a student at UC when he decided he wanted to enlist in the National Guard. He had what looked like everything going for him, however, one fall night in October he made the tragic decision to end his life. I have yet to meet any of his many friends that said they saw ANY signs at all, that we should have been concerned.
This was tragedy like no other. Needless to say his family, friends and acquaintances were all rocked to the core. Faith, shaken. Purpose, gone. Any reason to see joy, gone. His mother, sister and I are still grieving, that part may never end. However, we also wanted to make something beautiful out of this tragedy? We knew from the first week, that something like this Foundation had to be started, but we had to have time for some measure of healing.
18 months later, here we are. While Kim and Sarah are not at the same place as me, they are involved and supportive-I could not do this without their love and support! We WILL make a difference. I have said from the beginning, if we only ever help one young person, IT WILL ALL BE WORTH IT! We want to bring some much needed awareness to these issues. Mental health issues are not taboo. If you injure yourself-you get help! Why would you not treat your mental health the same way?
These conversations are hard-but so, so necessary! It is OK to talk about your feelings. It is OK to reach out. It is OK to not be 'normal'. Making the choice, or even thinking about suicide, is NOT THE SOLUTION! Everyone’s life has so much value. Everyone’s life is worth so much. Everyone's has a story that is not finished.
PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE-DO NOT GIVE UP!

Go Blue!Melissa loves the small town feel of Goshen and the community togetherness. It is why she chose to raise her 5 kids here. She currently works as a substitute teacher/nurse for Goshen as well. She has been married to Matt going on ten years, and he grew up and graduated from Milford.
Melissa started her passion in helping others when she obtained her nursing degree, her passion was an influence to her peers, whom selected her to be their class speaker at graduation. She runs a small charcuterie board business from home because she loves being creative and has a knack for unique design.
Melissa volunteers any chance she gets within the schools or sporting events. She has helped with youth cheer and always loves to be team mom to all kids. It has been said that she does not know a stranger. You can often find her leaving a kind note or word to others just to cheer them up.
Melissa has a passion for mental health. Having had her own personal struggles she has an empathy for it that can be felt from within. Having to experience the loss of her ex husband and father of her two children, Carson and Caydence, to suicide; it brought and amplified her desire to advocate, teach, and support mental health awareness. Seeing the effects this has had on her family she knows there is such a need for awareness, but even more a kind hand to guide others. She hopes to influence even one life by being a part of this foundation.

I am Larry Haas, Bob’s father. My wife, Barbara and I have lived in Liberty Twp. for 32 years. I previously had no close contact with suicide, and this really caught me off guard. Barbara and I grieve the loss of Jacob, our oldest grandson, but we are so proud of our son, his wife, Kim, and our granddaughter Sarah for the way they are living their lives to make a difference for others. It would be a wonderful outcome if SnacPac4L could spare another family the grief we have experienced.I am an active member of Christ Church in Glendale, an Episcopal church and am currently enrolled in a program to become certified as a Stephen Minister. This is a Christian lay offering to provide one on one support for people who have encountered significant changes in their lives: loss of job, divorce, death of spouse or child or severe health challenges. Entering this program is a direct outcome of Jacob’s death.
I am retired from a career in high performance computing. I worked for some premier computer companies and provided system management for some of the largest installations at the National Science Foundation, the Department of Defense and National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration. Now I have the time and energy to do anything I can to help make SnacPac4L successful.

My name is Marissa Nighbert. I was born and raised in Columbus, Ohio, and relocated to the Greater Cincinnati area in 2018 to attend the University of Cincinnati, where I earned my Bachelor of Arts in Psychology. From a young age, I have felt a strong calling to help others navigate the challenges of the world we live in.I am currently pursuing a graduate degree at Antioch University, studying Clinical Mental Health Counseling and Art Therapy. In my free time, I enjoy spending time with my dog, Maverick, creating art, and being outdoors. I also play volleyball in the Clermont County area, where I have built meaningful friendships and a sense of community.
Professionally, I work as a case manager at Greater Cincinnati Behavioral Health services, supporting adults on probation who are living with severe mental health challenges. This role has strengthened my commitment to advocacy, compassion, and accessible care, I hope to bring the skills and insight I’ve gained into my work with SnacPac4L to help expand its reach and impact.
I believe there can never be too much awareness when it comes to suicide prevention. Educating and supporting youth is essential to protecting and uplifting those who may be struggling. This mission is deeply personal to me, as I lost a friend to suicide during my high school years. Joining SnacPac4L is not only an honor, but also a meaningful way to honor their memory and contribute to positive change in the live of others.
Take it one day at a time, you are not alone!
